Corpobids—for Less Expensive and Stress-Free Corporate Events
Corpobids, a company incubated in Centech, at the École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS), offers a platform that allows corporate event planners with events including 10 or more people to save time and money, at no charge.
The platform operation is simple. To begin with, the event organizer must register―a step that is free of charge. The organizer then creates a query by entering the characteristics of the planned event, i.e. dates, city, number of rooms, and services required (conference room, etc.), as well as the preferred hotels. The platform offers a wide array of choices: 1400 hotels located in 130 cities! The selected hotels send their quotes to the potential clients.
Hotels registered on the Corpobids platform can see the quotes of their competitors and reduce theirs to prepare a more favourable bid, through a reverse auction process. Clients do not have to make additional calls, renegotiate or appear in person at the hotels. All they need to do is to check the platform to see the evolution of the quotes. The reverse auction continues until the cut-off date previously determined by the client. Then, clients choose the one that best meets their needs from among the proposals.
Origin of the Company
Both Corpobids founders previously held supervisory roles in hotel marketing. They met while working at the opening of a hotel in Montreal. This experience made them realize the long process involved in increasing a hotel’s client base and the amount of work required. It was from this experience that the idea of Corpobids was born.
Benefits of Corpobids
Corpobids allows event organizers to save time (from 12 to 16 hours of work) and money (from 35% to 52% of the cost). Participating hotels also benefit from the platform. Indeed, Corpobids allows them to facilitate client access and conversion, as well as the bid process. The platform gives them a chance to learn about their competition and find out the reasons why they won (or lost) a service offer. Note that Corpobids never calls on a hotel without offering real business opportunity. Corpobids gets paid by the hotel only when the event actually takes place and their rates comply with the International Air Transport Association (IATA) regulations.
The company is currently recruiting representatives and digital marketing specialists to support its growth.
