Come and Present your Research to the Next ACFAS Conference!

Since 1933, ACFAS (Association francophone pour le savoir) is committed to bringing together the French community of learning and research. Each year the group holds a conference where professionals in the scientific community can present their current research and discuss related issues. The next conference will be held from May 8 to 12, 2017, at McGill University, in Montréal.

This high level scientific conference includes thematic seminars and open communications during which researchers and research users will reveal and discuss research results, while building relationships for future collaboration. Priority is also given to young scientists who will have a great opportunity to refine their presentation skills and face an audience of seasoned researchers.

Three different options are available to researchers and research students.

1 – Scientific Seminars – Deadline for Submissions: Tuesday, November 1, 2016

The Scientific Seminars are the perfect setting for disseminating research results and debating among researchers, experts, policy makers, research users, etc. They allow you to:

  • Showcase research results on a topic of your choice
  • Increase the visibility of your research and your institution
  • Consolidate your collaborative relationships and establish new ones

2 – Seminars on Research Issues – Deadline for Submissions: Tuesday, November 1, 2016

The seminars on Research Issues offer an opportunity for reflecting on one or several aspects relating to research as a specific activity and as knowledge generation. The seminars on Research Issues are the perfect setting to:

  • Discuss and debate topics relating to politics, ethics, emerging research and scientific culture, etc.
  • Present the conditions for research outreach
  • Study the conditions for scientific cooperation in the research community (interdisciplinarity)
  • In this regard, provide food for thought without necessarily presenting research results

For eligibility requirements, visit this page.

3 – The Open Discussions – Deadline for Submissions: Monday, November 28, 2016

The open discussions are scientific communications that present the most recent research results to peers. The presentations are made orally with a chairman, in sessions of 5 to 6 papers, or as a poster displayed in an exhibition area covering several authors.

The ACFAS conference is the largest multidisciplinary gathering on knowledge and research in the Francophonie, and hosts thousands of researchers and research users from about thirty countries.
